2026 Parking Reminder for students & competitors

IMPORTANT message to class participants and league/tournament archers!

Please remember to park in our parking lot whenever possible.

DO NOT PARK on the south side of County Road 38.

If the parking lot is full, please park on the north side of the road only, and east of our lane way.

This notice is very important during the snow removal season; the OPP will have your car towed away if you are in the way of the snow-plough drivers.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Millar to judge at 2026 National 3D, Target and Field Championships

Kathleen Millar will join other national judges to volunteer at Archery Canada’s national 3D/field/target championships in Muskoka, ON during the first weeks of August.  For more details about the event, please use the Archery Canada website link to the host committee’s site.

For those of you who have pre-registered already, be prepared for all 4-letter words for weather conditions:  heat, rain and wind, plus humidity which probably will be in great supply for all 3 championships.

Some SNAC archers will be competing during the week and we wish all of them good shooting.

Four Candle-Masters for 2026

We had 3 people shoot flames out correctly this year.  Congratulations to all the Advanced Class members who tried to split the wick.  We had dozens of arrows go straight through the flames, but never put out the flame without touching the candle.

Our 3 top archers were:  Leona Crabb (recurve), Mike Wood (compound), Robert Hoger (compound) and Frank Hallett (compound).

This event is held only one time each year, in the advanced class, under maximum safety conditions.

2026 Nutrition Challenge Big Success – Great Participation

March is always nutrition month in Canada.  In order to recognise the importance of healthy eating to good shooting, the 4 advanced groups taking lessons on Wednesdays and Thursdays participate in a week-long nutrition challenge.  How well can I eat for a week, following the Canada Food Guide (dietary needs taken into consideration)?

This year, all but 1 student handed in their completed challenge forms and the numbers were impressive.  The majority of students who participated in other years showed improved compliance – well done, everyone!

Special mention for the highest scores achieved in each of the 4 classes:  Robert Hoger (overall highest score), Landon Ardron, Mark Malkowski (most improved score), and Fred & Jenn Sequillion.

New National Indoor Championship Record shot today by Serenity Last (unofficial)

On March 08, 2026, South Nation Archery Club hosted a site for the regional indoor championships, being held this weekend all over Canada.

We are very pleased to announce that Serenity Last, who shot 567 in the recurve women U21 division, may have broken the indoor record which existed since 2004.  Regardless, congratulations Serenity!!

2026 Ontario 10-ring Championship Week is in the books

Thank you to all the archers who competed at SNAC for the regional provincial 10-ring championship, which we hosted from February 16-22, 2026.

We have not calculated all the possible record-breaking performances, but certainly Travis Tyo broke his own record – congratulations.  Serenity Last came very close to breaking SNAC archer Molly Solc’s U21 recurve women’s record – well done, Serenity.

This was an internationally-sanctioned tournament at our site, so you can find results through Archery Canada’s website link:
