2021 In-person Lessons are starting; no Mail matches or leagues

South Nation Archery was affected by the COVID-19 Grey Zone restrictions, but we are happy to report that our indoor lanes have re-opened, following Orange Zone guidelines for sports.  You MUST phone or e-mail to book a 1-hour shooting time.  No more than 2 people on the line; no more than 2 lines during the hour.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to run our house leagues and mail matches this year.  Note that our tournament slated for January 10th has been postponed indefinitely.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR GROUP LESSONS

ADVANCED GROUP Session #3 LESSONS will begin on March 03-04, 2021.  All those students pre-registered for these classes have been contacted directly by e-mail with specifics.

Friday night BEGINNER GROUP Session #3 LESSONS will start on Friday, March 05, 2021.  Please see our classes tabs for details.

In-person private lessons are available once again.  Please contact Kathleen Millar to book your time at:  info@southnationarchery.com

COVID-19 Lock-down Continues at SNAS

As of February 08th’s government of Ontario announcement, all restrictions for South Nation Archery remain the same.

We are an essential service, so the retail stores is allowed to remain open; the lanes and indoor recreational activities continue to be closed.  Therefore, classes will not be offered until at least February 16, 2021.

Please follow us on our website or on Facebook for updates as we receive them.

Stay safe and we hope to see all of our students again soon!

AWARDS CELEBRATION – COVID-19 STYLE FOR 2020!

On Saturday, September 26th we will be hosting our annual Awards Celebration for 2020.

We are excited to recognize all of our club, provincial and national participants.

But it’s 2020, so there will be differences:

  1. This event is by invitation only. You will receive an invitation directly via e-mail and/or via Canada Post.  There will be no other spectators.  Please see Point #3.
  2. The presentations will be held outdoors. We will have a pavilion in case of poor weather.  Please wear your mask at all times except for the actual presentation.
  3. Bring ONE family member with you in order to present you with your medal(s).
  4. There is no set time to arrive during the day between 9am to 4pm. Please identify yourself at the shop door and we’ll come out to organise the presentation, take your photo and give you some cake if you wish.
  5. We will create a photo collage on our website of all our participants who join us on September 26th.
  6. There will be individual pieces of cake, cut and plated according to COVID-19 guidelines. Kathy or Larry will give you the piece of cake directly in order to avoid cross-contamination.  When you eat your cake, please maintain at least 2m-distance between your family and any others present.  Please put your garbage in the waste bin provided.

NOTE:  SNAC has all the medals and certificates EXCEPT for provincial championship medals.  If you received one of these in the mail, PLEASE bring it/them along so that we can present them to you properly.

FYI:  MICA has been extended until the end of the year, so we will not be able to know club member results yet.

Final 2020 Mail Match Results

Greetings:

Since we have been forced to close our lanes to the general public effective March 25, we have submitted our mail match scores both to Archery Canada and Archery Ontario.

You will find those results below.  Two things to note:

1.  AC has decided that due to the COVID-19 epidemic forcing most clubs to close, they will take the TOP FOUR scores this year instead of 6 for the averages.  We have not been contacted by AO regarding any changes.

2.  AC has advised us that all indoor championship medals and indoor mail match medals will not be distributed until later in the spring/summer.  We will let everyone know when they have arrived.

2020 February WA18M Tournament Results

Thanks to all those archers who participated in our annual February get-ready-for-the-provincial-champs tournament.

We had some good shoot and CanBow badges were earned by Serenity Last and Bryanna Larocque, both recurve archers with a passion for shooting.  Well done both of you!  🙂

Here are the full results from our tournament.

Next tournament is Archery ON 10-ring championship week from February 17-23.  There will be no classes that week.
