REVISED: Outdoor Lanes re-open as of Thursday, April 8th with COVID-19 Restrictions

The provincial government’s stay-at-home mandates supersedes the notice below.  Thank you.

Under the revised guidelines of the April 2nd Ontario Government shutdown announcement, outdoor recreational amenities such as baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts and golf courses are allowed to open as long as physical distance is maintained and no team sports are played.  This is an update from the original press release.

Therefore, unless there is a complete lock-down, South Nation Archery is pleased to accept bookings for use of the outdoor archery lanes.  In accordance with “gatherings” guidelines, we will book to a maximum of 5 people per hour.

Please contact Kathy or Larry to book your time by phone 613-989-2943, or by e-mail info@southnationarchery.com.

COVID-19 ORANGE ZONE RE-OPENING – Important Information

South Nation is pleased to advise its customers and students that the indoor lanes will be allowed to re-open under the following conditions.  PLEASE read carefully.  We will be in compliance with ONTARIO REGULATION 364/20, which was issued on February 10, 2021.  These guidelines will continue unless a third COVID-19 wave forces the Ontario government to shut down the Eastern Ontario Health Unit again.

Part 1:  Private Lessons and General Practice

Effective Wednesday, February 17th at 1pm EST, 1-hour, pre-registered private lessons and practice times will resume at SNAS.  All previous COVID-19 cleaning regimes and physical distancing guidelines will be re-instated.

All participants and students must wear a mask when not on the shooting line.  Those refusing to do so will be asked to leave our facility immediately.

a) Using the Lanes

During practice shooting times, only 2 persons will be allowed on the line at once, and 2 lines only, with a maximum of two “germ pools” per hour.  Pre-registration is mandatory; no walk-ins will be allowed in the lanes.  People who arrive unannounced will have to book a time and return.

In accordance with the regulations, there will be NO spectators allowed, but guardians may wait in the showroom.  Also, you will be given only ONE HOUR to practice.

b) In-person Private Lessons

Priority will be given to all those students / families who had their pre-booked lessons cancelled due to the Stay-at-Home order.  Kathleen Millar will be in touch with you directly via e-mail in order to re-schedule, if you are still interested.  Skype lessons will continue as usual.

All private lessons must be pre-booked via e-mail:  info@southnationarchery.com.  No exceptions.

Part 2:  Group Lessons Phase-in Plan

Due to the province-wide lock down, session #2 group lessons were cancelled.  Providing there is no further restriction in the Eastern Ontario Health Unit area, SNAS will start group lessons in March 2021.

a) Advanced/Intermediate Groups Session #3

All those students who were pre-registered for Session #2 will be given priority to return to class if they desire.  Kathleen Millar will e-mail each student / family directly.  You must confirm your interest to return or your spot will be given to those on the waiting list.

Classes for Session #3 Advanced/Intermediate will begin on Wednesday, March 3rd and Thursday, March 4th.  Further information will be posted on our website.

b) Beginner Youth, Teens and Adult Groups Session #3

Classes for Session #3 Beginner Youth, Teens and Adults will begin on Friday, March 5th.  Further information will be posted on our website.

We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

COVID-19 Lock-down Continues at SNAS

As of February 08th’s government of Ontario announcement, all restrictions for South Nation Archery remain the same.

We are an essential service, so the retail stores is allowed to remain open; the lanes and indoor recreational activities continue to be closed.  Therefore, classes will not be offered until at least February 16, 2021.

Please follow us on our website or on Facebook for updates as we receive them.

Stay safe and we hope to see all of our students again soon!

CANCELLED TOURNAMENT on Sunday, February 14, 2021

Due to the provincial government’s decision to lock down eastern Ontario February 10th, we have decided to cancel this tournament until further notice.  The current COVID-19 environment is too unstable to plan for archers to have sufficient practice time in advance of the re-scheduled date.

We will advertise sanctioned indoor events with as much advanced notice as possible.  However, this may be only one week’s notice.

We thank all our competitive archers for their patience while we try to offer our regular programming under unusual circumstances.

Birthday Parties During COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and following Ontario government guidelines, we are suspending birthday party lessons until further notice.

The only exemption to this are parties which comprise of one family only in attendance.

Please contact Kathleen Millar for more details:  info@southnationarchery.com

Tournament Schedule During COVID-19

SNAC is pleased to announce that we will be running World Archery sanctioned events in 2021.  Also, we will be running both provincial indoor championships and the national regional indoors.  Also, we will be running mail matches.

Pre-registration for all these events is COMPULSORY.  Preference will be given to advanced students and regular club participants.

You will see the dates and shooting times on our Events Page.

Only 4 people will be shooting for any start time; 2 archers per line.  There will be no spectators.

On Saturday, September 26th we will be hosting our annual Awards Celebration for 2020.

We are excited to recognize all of our club, provincial and national participants.

But it’s 2020, so there will be differences:

  1. This event is by invitation only. You will receive an invitation directly via e-mail and/or via Canada Post.  There will be no other spectators.  Please see Point #3.
  2. The presentations will be held outdoors. We will have a pavilion in case of poor weather.  Please wear your mask at all times except for the actual presentation.
  3. Bring ONE family member with you in order to present you with your medal(s).
  4. There is no set time to arrive during the day between 9am to 4pm. Please identify yourself at the shop door and we’ll come out to organise the presentation, take your photo and give you some cake if you wish.
  5. We will create a photo collage on our website of all our participants who join us on September 26th.
  6. There will be individual pieces of cake, cut and plated according to COVID-19 guidelines. NOTE:  SNAC has all the medals and certificates EXCEPT for provincial championship medals.  If you received one of these in the mail, PLEASE bring it/them along so that we can present them to you properly.

FYI:  MICA has been extended until the end of the year, so we will not be able to know club member results yet.
