4 x 720 weekend event success despite COVID-19

We are happy to announce that South Nation Archery Club is one of the first clubs in Canada to host a world-sanctioned event in the COVID-19 era!  With all the extra paperwork and measures in place, we were able to run our annual 4 x 720 weekend event in August instead of our normal mid-July dates.

The results are listed below and are on the Archery Canada website.

Congratulations to all our competitors; there were some PBs:

Durvishan Thananchayan shot 2 +560 scores

Kaity Horlock shot 680 and Robin shot really well, too!

Larry E. Smith set a new national record for Master’s +60 Fixed Pins with a 641.

2020 February WA18M Tournament Results

Thanks to all those archers who participated in our annual February get-ready-for-the-provincial-champs tournament.

We had some good shoot and CanBow badges were earned by Serenity Last and Bryanna Larocque, both recurve archers with a passion for shooting.  Well done both of you!  🙂

Here are the full results from our tournament.

Next tournament is Archery ON 10-ring championship week from February 17-23.  There will be no classes that week.

2019 National Indoors big success at SNAC

Congratulations, everyone!

We had some terrific shooting this year and some PBs along the way.  Special note for Sandra Rampton-Siedule and Durvishan Thananchayan – well done!

Normally, Alexandra Paquette shoots the nationals with us, but this is a Canada Winter Games year, so her first round score of 583 (!) at the Games will be used.  Alexandra is a double-gold medallist for compound, individual female as well as team!

This was the first tournament Durvishan Thananchayan shot as a cadet and as a junior for Alexandra Paquette. Well done also to Jacky Liang who competed in his first tournament. Best wishes for a speedy recovery from her wrist injury to Connie Siedule.
You can see the results here, too. 🙂

2018 Annual CDN 900 Round Results

Congratulations to all archers who joined us for all or part of the CDN 900 round this year.  Though it is a nationally-sanctioned event, we allowed club members who couldn’t quite reach 55m to join in at 45m and 35m with the other competitors.

The weather was terrific and we did not have to put up with many bugs!

We will hold this event in 2019 on week 6 of our CDN900 Wednesday night leagues – come join us!

SNAC 2018 Annual 4 x 720 Weekend Results

Great weather and friendly shooting with some good performances were the highlights from this year’s 70m/60/50m 720 weekend event.

We had competitors from across eastern and central Ontario.  Congratulations to everyone.

2018 MICA Results for SNAC March 25

To finish the indoor 2017-2018, we hosted our annual Multi-site Indoor Championship of the Americas (MICA) event, which was registered with World Archery and Archery Canada. This world regional event runs from January 01-April 30 annually and most countries in the Americas participate.

There was some great shooting and team round was exciting as always! Congratulations to our men’s compound and recurve senior teams:  Ryan, Brandon & Nolan (230) and Shane, Pierre & Mohamed (190).

Individual congratulations go to Brandon Luckovitch, Hannah Rousseau, Mohamed El-Halawani and Pierre Dagenais who either beat their personal best or tied it.  Well done!

Full Canadian results will be posted on Archery Canada’s website after April 22nd – the last Canadian site to host this event.  Full Americas results will appear on the COPARCO website after April 30.

As this end the indoor season, we would like to thank club members who added to the refreshments and snacks table each tournament all season long.  In particular, a special thanks goes to Connie Siedule for her VERY generous contribution to healthy eating for every tournament – amazing!!!

Our outdoor season starts with Wednesday night CDN 900 Round leagues in mid-June.  Stay posted for more details!
