Congratulations to all archers who joined us for all or part of the CDN 900 round this year. Though it is a nationally-sanctioned event, we allowed club members who couldn’t quite reach 55m to join in at 45m and 35m with the other competitors.
The weather was terrific and we did not have to put up with many bugs!
We will hold this event in 2019 on week 6 of our CDN900 Wednesday night leagues – come join us!

Great weather and friendly shooting with some good performances were the highlights from this year’s 70m/60/50m 720 weekend event.
We had competitors from across eastern and central Ontario. Congratulations to everyone.
Use these links for the scores. And, if you were not able to make it this, please put it on your bucket list for 2019!

KINSELLA, Victor Reid – After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Victor Reid Kinsella on July 14, 2018 at 87 years at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. Victor was pre-deceased by his loving wife Rita Kinsella (2013). He is survived by his children Victoria (Toni) Vanmillingen, Toni Corriveau, Thomas Kinsella and James (Debbie) Kinsella. Victor was the loving grandfather of nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. We will hold the memories of this kind and loving man within our hearts and we will honour him by sharing these memories with each other and by doing something kind every day for anyone who needs it. Memorial donations may be made to the Men’s Mission or the charity of your choice.
Vic Kinsella was a kind, generous archery coach and former President of the Federation of Canadian Archers (known now as Archery Canada). Kathleen Millar worked with him and for him over many years – an inspiration and role model. So much kindness and humour, and roses!

Kathleen Millar and SNAC hosted the small, but important national team training camp June 25-28. The National Para Mixed Team, comprising of Karen Van Nest and Kevin Evans, trained and simulated competition in preparation for a Paralympic World Ranking Event in the Czech Republic starting on June 30th.
As part of the pre-event camp, national Team Leader Duncan Crawford (PEI) attended as well. Other team support members were able to attend also.
In order to simulate match play for Karen and Kevin, Kaity Horlock, Hannah Rousseau, Alexandra Paquette and Robin Horlock all participated in the Round Robin and Super-team eliminations. Thank you for volunteering! To thank our volunteers, Larry grilled a great smorgasbord of delights to go with all the salads.
Good luck to our Canadian Paralympic Mixed Team in the Czech Republic!

OFSSA archers travelling from eastern Ontario with Kathleen Millar shot this annual tournament, which has been running for over 30 years. Kathleen has trained local high-school aged archers during these years to take advantage of this unique opportunity; Ontario is the only province running a high school archery championship.
The archers were very successful! CONGRATULATIONS!
