Karen Van Nest officially named to Rio Paralympic Team

Congratulations to Paralympian Karen Van Nest who will represent Canada in archery at the Rio Games in September.  Karen shoots in the Compound Open division (compound bows are permitted in Paralympic Games).  This will be her second Para Games as an archer; formerly she competed in Pistol.

She lives in the Bruce Peninsula area, and is supported by her partner Phil Henderson.  She trains with Kathy Millar via Skype and whenever possible face-to-face in Winchester.  Recently, she shot a near-world record score at SNAC and is currently returning from competing well at the US Nationals.  She will be competing at the Canadian Target Nationals in Peterborough in early August.  She will continue to prepare for the 2016 Games and beyond.
